Steps

  2. Provide the following details for registration.
  3. Select your Electricity Distribution Company
  4. Enter your Electricity Consumer Number
  5. Please follow as per the direction from the portal.
  6. Login with Consumer Number & Mobile Number.
  7. Apply for the Rooftop Solar as per the form.
  8. Fill out the online application form.

What is scheme all about ?

This is a government scheme that aims to provide free electricity to households in India.

What benefits are provided ?

1. Subsidy on the Suitable Rooftop Solar Plant Capacity for households. 2. Free electricity for households. 3. Reduced electricity costs for the government. 4. Increased use of renewable energy. 5. Reduced carbon emissions.

Who can get the scheme benefits?

1. The household must be an Indian citizen. 2. The household must own a house with a roof that is suitable for installing solar panels. 3. The household must have a valid electricity connection. 4. The household must not have availed any other subsidy for solar panels

Can applicant install Rooftop Solar system if applicant live in a rented house?

The RTS under any framework like net or gross metering can be installed by the electricity consumer. So, if applicant have electricity connection in his/her name and he/she pay regularly the electricity bill in his/her own name and also have the permission of use the roof for solar rooftop installation from the owner, he/she can install the RTS.
